NOVEMBER | MONTHLY ROUNDUP

I wanted to start this new series because November 2015 was such an important month for me. I hit a few important milestones in the past month and I wanted to remember them by formally writing them up! In the month of December, I will also be ticking a few things off my bucket list so that's super exciting and something to look forward to as well.

I know quite a few bloggers who do monthly round ups and taking stock posts like these, but I really do have to give credit to Juliette over at Luar + Wolffdene, who has inspired me to start something like this!

Here's a look back into what happened in November:

Highlights:
  • I finished university in November! I sat my last exam on the 5th and my last result came out on the 30th. My last semester of university was literally the most stressful one yet, but I'm happy to say I passed all my papers with decent marks! Next step: Graduation.
  • I bought mum (and myself) a Nespresso coffee machine! I'm looking forward to drinking cafe-quality coffee at home!
  • I went to two pub quizzes in November; once with some friends and once as part of my leaving dinner with the girls at Pandora. Even though I hardly know anything, I absolutely love pub quiz nights. It is such a good bonding experience and I get so competitive! I love it.
  • I'M IN NEW YORK! And being able to see my sister for the first time in two years and being able to spend her birthday with her!

Lowlights:
  • Being in New York means I'm with my sister, but I'm away from my parents and my close friends in New Zealand. I also spend Christmas with the same group of people every year and this year I won't be able to. I'm sending all my love from New York though and I'll be there in spirit.
  • I was so excited to travel and sit on a plane for the first time in a long time, but 22 hours of (almost) non-stop flying just gave me terrible jetlag and an aching body. Not complaining about being able to have a holiday though!

Firsts:
  • It's my first time travelling alone and this scares the bejeezus out of me. Flying over to New York was a mission in itself, with two delayed flights and my luggage not turning up when it was supposed to. I had this image of myself sitting down with a Krispy Kreme and a coffee in Sydney waiting for my next flight... In reality, I had fifteen minutes to get through screening and then another five minutes to run to my next gate. I thought navigating international airports would be hard... try navigating international airports when you have five minutes before your plane takes off without you. Eek! I did make it to New York though and my luggage was found and delivered to me, so that is all that matters.
Lasts:
  • I worked my last shift at my part time job in November! I have been there for just over two years and seen so many people come and go. I've also met some of the best people I know at Pandora and it has been such an important part of my life.

Monthly Obsessions:
  • I'm probably going to get so much hate for this but... One Direction. I love their new album and even though Justin Bieber is beating them on the charts, I'm still a Directioner. My favourite tracks are If I Could Fly and Love You Goodbye.
  • Peppermint Mocha Frappuccinos from Starbucks. These are seriously amazing.
  • The salted caramel chocolate balls from Scarecrow's Media Breakfast. I cannot get over these!!!!!!!
  • The baked cookie dough at Big Fish Eatery. I would literally go back just for the cookie dough.

I hope you're all having an amazing start to December wherever you are in the world!

Sheena x
